We’re the Alliance for Feminist Movements (AFM) - a collaborative effort between governments, private philanthropy, women’s and feminist funds, civil society organizations, and other allies ensuring that feminist movements receive the financial and political support they need to succeed.
About the Alliance for Feminist Movements
Feminist movements are driving progress on some of the world’s most pressing issues—from climate justice to health, education, and civic participation. But according to UN Women (2025), developing countries face a staggering shortfall of around $420 billion (USD) each year in the funding needed to reach gender equality.
With stronger, sustained investment, these movements can go even further.
That’s why our Alliance exists—to bring together organizations, activists, and allies committed to closing this gap and amplifying the power of our collective voice.

Our Offer
We’re here to simplify and make more accessible how funding systems work for those working toward gender equality and social justice. Together with movements and funders, we explore where resources come from, how they flow, and what opportunities exist to better support this transformative work.
We create space for collaboration across sectors. Through shared learning, co-creation, and member-led action, we bring people together to explore funding trends, address institutional barriers, and imagine new ways to bridge the gap between movements and donors.
