Alliance for Feminist Movements

Secretariat

Rachel Jacobson: Co-Director

Rachel has been engaged in women’s human rights advocacy and service provision for nearly twenty years. Her work began with providing support to pregnant minors and abortion care before working on global policy advocacy and feminist movement building with organizations both small – Youth Coalition for Sexual and Reproductive Rights – and large – Human Rights Watch. Throughout all these years and organizations, Rachel’s activism remains grounded in the seemingly simple ethos of her early training in abortion care: trust women. She has a BA in Women’s Studies and Human Rights Studies and a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Human Rights.

Sandra Macías del Villar: Co-Director

Sandra is a mother, an intersectional Latinx feminist, and activist at heart who is passionate about our collective liberation and working towards building a world in which all worlds can exist in harmony. In the past two decades Sandra has dedicated her labor to uplifting and supporting social justice movements globally, and working directly with collectives led by women, girls, trans, and gender nonconforming people as well as historically marginalized populations. Sandra has held multiple leadership roles in organizations such as Global Fund for Women, Mama Cash, Global Fund for Children, and the International Rescue Committee, among others. Through her most recent role as the Director of Feminist Crisis Response and Sustaining Movements at Global Fund for Women, Sandra has been a fierce advocate to influence the humanitarian and crisis response sectors, to better support feminist movements before, during, and after crises occur. Sandra has ample experience engaging with bilateral and multilateral agencies, private and public philanthropy, and has served on various boards and steering committees.
